HAMMER TIME HANLEY GETS WEEKEND OFF TO GREAT START WITH POLE

Series leader Chris ‘Hammer Time’ Hanley got his weekend underway in style with pole position in qualifying at the season finale for the UDC V8 Utes at Pukekohe this afternoon in the Brother Holden Ute.
Aussie ace Kris Walton set the initial pace and went quickest on his second lap in the Multispares Ford, but Hanley went two tenths quicker on his next lap and that was how the top two remained.

Hanley's nearest championship rivals Mike Lightfoot and Peter Ward line up third and fourth in the Precision Engineering Ford and Ward Demolition Holden respectively, with an on-form Geoff Spencer fifth and Brett Rudd sixth in their Holdens.

John Penny was an impressive seventh on his first appearance in the UDC V8 Utes this season in the BNT Ford, with James Urquart in eighth in the Mitre 10 Trade Holden. Rounding out the top ten were Peter Robb's Holden and Jeff Kernohan's KCL Ford, with his dad Dave just four hundredths of a second behind and Rod Dawson 12th as he got to grips with the circuit in the Aussie NASCAR Tours Ford.
