Media release May 2012

t was announced at the MotorSport NZ Awards on the 19th of May. I am one of nine drivers from across all the motorsport classes in New Zealand who have been selected to attend the one week long academy at Otago University in Dunedin during the first week of July.

The Elite MotorSport Academy is a competition, in which the selected 9 drivers are constantly being scored for a wide range of topics and actions. At the conclusion there are awards for top individual and top overall team. The judging process started as soon as I got selected for the Academy and I have already been made to do a range of tasks before the actual Academy week in July.

We are expected to compete in a full range of activities that will test our mind and body which will give us a good platform to take us forward as drivers. These activities will test us and educate us, butare alsomeant to be fun, so here’s hoping.

The 2012 Elite MotorSport Academy is organised by The MotorSport New Zealand Scholarship Trust in conjunction with Excellence in Sport South Island and the University of Otago.

I am very excited about attending the Academy and looking forward to the challenge ahead of me.

I would like to thank all of you (my Sponsors, family and friends) for helping me to get to this point in my Motor Racing Career and I will keep you updated with how I am going before and after the Academy. Hopefully I will do you all proud and be standing on the top step of the podium at the end of the week in Dunedin.

Have a look at the link below which gives an even more indepth look at what we will be doing.
